on july 27, 1919 there was a race riot because a white man caused a black beachgoer to drown. which ended in a race riot white men , and black men went in an all out fight which 38 in total died but the exact number of black men and women who died was 23 and the number white men was 15 and over 500 people were injured of both the races. ..
